Hi Everyone,

I hope you're all well and had a good summer: relaxing, creative and whatever it was you were most in need of.
This is an update on the art workshops, comics events and exhibitions I'm holding this autumn, 2019.

Come and see me at the St. Werburgh's Art Trail!

I'll be exhibiting my work at the St. Werburgh's Community Centre on the weekend of 28th and 29th September 2019 from 12 - 6pm. I'll have affordable prints and original watercolours on sale, plus zines, comics and cards. Come and say hello: you could talk to me about commissions for a painting you'd like, questions you have about classes and workshops, and just to say hi.

Imaginative Watercolour Workshop
Sunday 27th October 2019

Spend a Sunday building up your skills and your confidence in watercolour. Enjoy 'wonderful failures and terrible successes' and try out some gentle exercises designed to ease you into a relaxed & creative state of mind.

To tie in with Bristol's October storytelling festival we'll explore how a painting can evoke a story. We'll draw inspiration from imagination, life and fiction.

Suitable for beginners and for more experienced artists who are looking to refresh or shake up their practice. No experience, imagination or 'talent' required...this will be a safe and non-judgemental environment for you to relax in.

Cost: £60 (includes all art materials and tea/refreshments)

From 10.30 to 4 at the Wild Goose Space, The Yard, Mina Road, St Werburgh's.

Just drop me an email to book a place: there's 7 spaces left at time of writing.

Mindful Art Journalling Workshop:
Saturday 16th November, 10 to 4 pm at Barley Wood Walled Garden

This is for you if you struggle with your inner critic and can’t get past creative blocks, or if you’d like to create art from a more intuitive place inside yourself. We’ll spend a day exploring and experimenting in a variety of drawing and painting media. You’ll learn new techniques and fresh approaches to art making which will support you to draw out your inner artist in an atmosphere of non-judgemental safety.

While you will be taught some artistic skills, the focus will be on how art can support mindfulness and intuition.   No previous experience or “talent” is required!

To book this workshop contact artist Amy Shiner who will be hosting it at her studio in the beautiful Barley Wood Walled Garden at The Ethicurean. Amy is at info@amyshiner.co.uk. You can check out her beautiful work at www.amyshiner.co.uk and see more of the gorgeous location at https://www.walledgarden.co.uk/

My New Book!

"Betweenity"
is a book of poems and images which are reflections on a 3 month meditation retreat at Gaia House in Devon. As autumn turns to winter, the book traces a retreatant's journey, the challenge and refuge of contemplative practice, and the sustenance of the natural world.

The poems are by River Wolton, a former Derbyshire poet laureate. There are 29 full colour illustrations by myself. It's 136 pages, costs £15 incl p&p and all profits go to Gaia House to fund free/reduced-fee retreat places for people who need them.

To purchase, email river at betweenity@outlook.com with your address and she'll take it from there. Thanks for your support!

And don't forget I have an etsy shop where you can buy cards, zines and prints. Perfect gifts for somebody who loves nature, yoga, meditation, art, comics or just needs to send greetings cards now and then!

By the way, you won't find any original paintings on my etsy shop, but if you see something you like on my website just ask, as many are also for sale as prints or originals, and are very reasonably priced. ") Just email me to enquire.
